Residential household hazardous waste drop-off, shredding event

  Items that will be accepted at the household hazardous waste drop-off area from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. include:  gasoline

or gas/oil mix, oil base paints and thinners, solvents, stains, sealants, pesticides, herbicides, insecticides, household

batteries, photographic and pool chemicals, household cleaners, compact fluorescent bulbs and tubes.  Fluorescent bulbs

and tubes can be disposed with regular trash after wrapping in paper and placing in a plastic bag.   

  Items not accepted include:  latex paint (latex paint can be disposed with household trash after being solidified by

an absorbent agent such as cat litter, sand, mulch or newspaper.), explosives/ammunition, medical waste, radioactive

material, compressed gas tanks and cylinders, rechargeable batteries, vehicle batteries, asbestos, items from commercial and

industrial businesses or farms. 

  Document management will be provided by CINTAS, The Service Professionals

®, from 8 am. to 1 p.m.  Items that

can be brought for shredding are:  invoices, bank statements, personal records, leases, time cards, balance sheets, audit

reports, blueprints, credit reports, drug screens, x-rays, back-up discs (three box or bag limit).

  The Carroll County Master Gardeners will be available from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. to distribute composting and

Chesapeake Bay-wise information and answer questions.
