Sergeant Michael Blair
On June 13th, 2009, Sergeant Michael Blair of the Sykesville
Police Department’s Auxiliary Unit was honored at the Knights of
Columbus Awards Banquet for being named Law Enforcement Officer of the
Year. After serving only 2 ½
years as an officer on the Auxiliary Unit, his accomplishments have gone
a long way in ensuring our quality of life in the Town of Sykesville.
Some
of the many contributions made by Sergeant Blair are serving as liaison
with Sykesville’s business owners, conducting foot patrols in the
community and school crossing details, directing traffic flow during
accidents and power outages, educating individuals at town events on
information and resources concerning preventative home safety tips,
house checks, etc. and more.
This is only a small portion of services Sergeant Blair provides
our community and its citizens.
Sergeant
Blair and his wife, Pat, who also donates much of her personal time to
this cause, were the guests of honor at the banquet along with a Carroll
County educator and clergyman who were also honored for their work and
dedication to the community.
All three were recognized by the Knights of Columbus for the services
they provide their community and the impact their work has had on
Carroll County.
