1.  What do I do when I find a stray animal or lose a pet?

 

Stray Animal

If a stray animal wanders into your yard or neighborhood contact Animal Control at (410) 848-4810.  They will respond by sending out an animal control officer.  It is recommended contacting them due to the possibility that the owner of the stray animal may have already contacted Animal Control concerning their lost pet. 

 

If you believe there is immediate danger from the animal, contact the Sykesville Police Department at (410) 795-0757 for assistance, in additional to Animal Control.

 

Lost Pet

If you have a lost pet, contact Animal Control and the Sykesville Police Department.  The police officers will routinely search the area for your pet.  As mentioned above, someone may have already contacted Animal Control concerning your lost pet.

4. What days can I be fingerprinted and what is the fee?

 

Requests for fingerprinting are taken on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays from 9:45 am to 1:45 pm, when staffing allows.  We ask that you call ahead to schedule an appointment.  Appointments may be scheduled by calling (410) 795-0757.  The fee per card is $10; checks and exact change are accepted; no credit/debit cards.  A photo ID is required.    

 

Fingerprint cards are NOT provided.

 

5. What is the fee for a copy of a Police Report?

 

The fee for a copy of a police report is $10 per report, effective July 1, 2008.  Checks and exact change will be accepted; no credit/debit cards.

 

6. What is the fee for a copy of an Accident Report?

 

Effective April 1, 2009, the fee for an accident report will be increased to $15.  Checks and exact change will be accepted; no credit/debit cards.
