Nicholas Betcher, an officer with the Sykesville Police Department, was diagnosed with cancer approximately 6 months ago. As he fights this battle, Nick’s outlook has remained extremely positive and has great stamina which all contributes to a good recovery.  Should you or your organization wish to make a donation to help defray his medical costs, it would be much appreciated.  Checks may be made out to Nicholas Betcher and dropped off or mailed to the Sykesville Police Department, 7547 Main Street, Sykesville, MD 21784.

The Sykesville Police Department would like to remind all residents and visitors of the importance of driving slowly and carefully through our town.  Please remember to watch your speed at all times.  The posted speed limit in most of our community is 25 miles per hour.  Remember, Maryland law requires all vehicles come to a complete stop at stop signs.  This is especially important in our residential areas due to the increased vehicular traffic as well as our heavy pedestrian traffic.

Please partner with the Sykesville Police Department; together we can keep our “community safe”.

Officers are on duty after the normal business hours and on weekends.
