REQUEST FOR PROPOSAL

TOWN OF SYKESVILLE 

The Mayor and Town Council of Sykesville are requesting written sealed proposals for the installation of a galvanized metal standing seam roof on the historic Stone Building located at South Branch Park in Sykesville.

Sealed bids will be received until 12:00 p.m., Friday, February 10, 2012, at which time they will be publicly opened and read.

TOWN OF SYKESVILLE

REQUEST FOR PROPOSALS

PUBLIC WORKS BUILDING LIGHTING UPGRADE

 

The Town of Sykesville is seeking qualified contractors to provide proposals for the installation of new energy efficient lighting in the Public Works Building.  Funding for the project is from the Maryland Energy Administration Empower Energy Efficiency and Conservation Block Grant Clean Energy Communities Program.  The grant is financed with American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (hereinafter, “ARRA”) funds.

A pre-bid conference will be held on Friday, February 3, 2012 at 11:00 a.m at the Sykesville Town House Office, 7574 Main Street, Sykesville, MD 21784.   Attendance at this meeting is not mandatory, but recommended.

 

Sealed proposals must be submitted at the Sykesville Town House by 12 Noon on Friday, February 10, 2012, at which time they will be opened and read publicly.  One official, signed proposal and one copy of the proposal should be submitted in accordance with all the requirements of this Request for Proposal addressed to:

The Mayor and Town Council of Sykesville present for your consideration the following proposed ordinance:

AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND THE CODE OF THE TOWN OF SYKESVILLE MARYLAND, CHAPTER 12, ETHICS, TO CONFORM TO THE REQUIREMENTS OF THE ANNOTATED CODE OF MARYLAND, TITLE 15, PUBLIC ETHICS, SUBTITLE 8, LOCAL GOVERNMENT PROVISIONS, FOR LOCAL PUBLIC ETHICS LAWS AND REGULATIONS FOR MUNICIPAL CORPORATIONS.

Museum Curator -Town of Sykesville
The Town of Sykesville is seeking to fill the position of Curator for the Gate House Museum of History.  The 12 hours per week position is responsible for overseeing museum accessions, and guiding public tours.   Desire an independent person with strong organizational skills, training in Microsoft office and access, degree in public history or related field preferred, or work equivalent.  Hourly rate is $9-$10 per hour, DOQ.

Nicholas Betcher, an officer with the Sykesville Police Department, was diagnosed with cancer approximately 6 months ago. As he fights this battle, Nick’s outlook has remained extremely positive and has great stamina which all contributes to a good recovery.  Should you or your organization wish to make a donation to help defray his medical costs, it would be much appreciated.  Checks may be made out to Nicholas Betcher and dropped off or mailed to the Sykesville Police Department, 7547 Main Street, Sykesville, MD 21784.

 Sykesville’s Historic District Commission has an opening on their Commission.

Applicants should have a strong interest in historic preservation, architecture, conservation, or related disciplines, and must be a Town resident.
